Flooring contractor in Lawrence, IN for epoxy and concrete floors

Lawrence Epoxy Floors and Concrete is a flooring contractor in Lawrence, IN, and most of our calls are garages, basements and shop floors that are dusty, stained, cracked or shedding an old coating. Across our 16 services, we fix what's wrong with the concrete and give you a floor that cleans up easily and holds up to how you use it. Price mostly turns on the floor's size, how much work the slab needs first and the system you pick. The schedule turns on that same prep and on how long each coating needs to cure. On the free estimate I walk the floor, check the slab and write up what we'd do and why.

  • Epoxy Floor Coatings

We grind the slab, fill the cracks and lay down a thick epoxy coating that stands up to oil, dust and stains on garage, basement and shop floors.

Epoxy Floor Coatings in Lawrence, IN
  • Commercial & Industrial Epoxy Floor Coatings

Running forklifts, carts or wash-downs on a bare slab? We coat warehouse, shop and plant floors with epoxy systems sized for that traffic and those chemicals.

Commercial & Industrial Epoxy Floor Coatings in Lawrence, IN
  • Garage Floor Coatings

Peeling DIY kit, salt stains or oil spots on the garage floor? We grind the slab and coat it so it cleans up with a broom and hose.

Garage Floor Coatings in Lawrence, IN
  • Polyaspartic Floor Coatings

Polyaspartic is a fast-curing coating that holds its color in sunlight, a good fit for garages and rooms where you can't give up the space for long.

Polyaspartic Floor Coatings in Lawrence, IN
  • Metallic Epoxy Flooring

We pour metallic epoxy with pigments that swirl into a deep, marbled look, for basements, showrooms and home bars where the floor is part of the room.

Metallic Epoxy Flooring in Lawrence, IN
  • Urethane Cement Flooring

Urethane cement is the heavy-duty system for commercial kitchens, food plants and wash-down areas, where hot water, steam and harsh cleaners would break down ordinary epoxy.

Polyaspartic Floor Coatings in Lawrence, IN
  • Polished Concrete Flooring

Want the concrete itself as the finished floor? We grind and polish the slab in stages to a hard, glossy surface with no coating to peel.

Polished Concrete Flooring in Lawrence, IN
  • Stained Concrete Flooring

We color existing concrete with acid or water-based stains, then seal it, so a basement, patio or shop gets color and character without covering up the slab.

Metallic Epoxy Flooring in Lawrence, IN
  • Terrazzo Flooring

Terrazzo is marble or glass chips set in an epoxy or cement base and ground smooth, a hard-wearing floor for lobbies, entries and busy halls.

    Terrazzo Flooring in Lawrence, IN
  • Basement Flooring

Damp, cold or dusty basement slab? We check it for moisture first, then pick a coating or overlay that can handle what comes up through the concrete.

Epoxy Floor Coatings in Lawrence, IN
  • Concrete Grinding & Surface Preparation

Grinding is the step that decides whether a coating holds. We diamond-grind the slab, taking off glue, paint and the weak top layer so a coating can grip.

Concrete Resurfacing & Overlays in Lawrence, IN
  • Concrete Sealing

Sometimes a sealer is all a slab needs. We clean the concrete and apply a penetrating or film-forming sealer to help keep out water, salt and stains.

    Concrete Sealing in Lawrence, IN
  • Concrete Resurfacing & Overlays

Is your slab sound but pitted, flaking or stained? A thin cement overlay gives it a new surface without the cost and mess of tearing it out.

Concrete Resurfacing & Overlays in Lawrence, IN
  • Self-Leveling Concrete & Overlays

We pour self-leveling underlayment, a cement mix that spreads itself flat, over uneven slabs so new tile, vinyl or a coating goes down on a level floor.

Epoxy Floor Coatings in Lawrence, IN
  • Pool Deck Coatings & Resurfacing

Pool deck cracked, faded or hot underfoot? We repair the concrete and put down a textured, slip-resistant coating or overlay that's easier on bare feet.

Pool Deck Coatings & Resurfacing in Lawrence, IN
  • Concrete Floor Stripping & Removal

Peeling epoxy, carpet glue or old paint in the way? We strip and grind it down to clean concrete so the next floor starts on a sound surface.

Why our floors start with the concrete underneath

Nearly every failed floor I've seen came back to the concrete underneath, so we spend our time there before the part you see. These four habits are how that shows up on your job.

  • We check your slab first

Before we recommend a floor, I check the concrete for moisture and look for old coatings, cracks and soft spots, so the system we pick suits the slab you actually have.

  • Answers before you sign

Ask me anything as many times as you need, and you'll get a full answer with the reason behind it. The written estimate spells out what we'd do and why, so you know what you're paying for.

  • A smaller fix when it fits

If a spot repair or a good sealer will do the job, I'll tell you that instead of selling you a full coating. And if your slab isn't ready for a coating yet, you'll hear that first.

  • Trained on floors that failed

I learned this trade running another owner's prep crews and fixing floors that didn't hold, so I know where coating jobs go wrong. Our own crew does your prep and install, and I check it along the way.

Our process from your call to the final walk-through

Here's what happens once you reach out, with a free on-site estimate and no pressure to book along the way.

  1. Call or send a request

Call us at (317) 463-6468 or send the form with a few lines about the floor, how you use the space and anything you've noticed, like peeling, cracks or damp spots. We get back to you within one business day to set a time for me to come out.

  2. I check the floor and write it up

I come out myself, look at the floor and check the concrete for moisture and old coatings. We talk through how you use the space, a parked truck is a different job than a home gym, and which system fits. Then you get a written estimate that says what we'd do and why.

  3. We prep the slab and lay the floor

Once you're ready, our own crew starts with the slab, grinding it, filling cracks and fixing damaged spots, because that's what the coating holds onto. Then we put the floor down coat by coat, letting each one cure before the next. I check the work along the way so small problems get caught early.

  4. Walk the finished floor together

When the floor's down, we walk it with you so you can look it over before we call it done. I'll tell you when it's ready for foot traffic and when you can park on it, since a coating keeps curing after it looks dry, and how to keep it clean.

Tell us about the floor you have in mind

Send this form or use our contact page, and we'll reply within one business day. I come out, check the slab and write up what we'd do and why at no charge, with no pressure to book.

Lawrence, Indiana, and the floors we see here

Lawrence is our home city, and it's a place where weekends fill up fast. Families head to Lawrence Community Park, the city's largest, for its soccer fields, skate park, sledding hill and paved walking trails, or to Lee Road Park for the playground, the pickleball courts and the paved nature trail through the woods. Fort Ben Cultural Campus brings everyone together for the Ft. Ben Farmers Market, the Juneteenth Jubilee and Fiesta Lawrence.

Around here most of our calls are garages and basements, plus shop and warehouse floors, and winter is hard on all of them because snow and road salt ride in on every tire and sit on bare concrete until spring. We do the same slab checks and the same prep in Lawrence as in every city around it, so your floor gets the attention that keeps a coating where it belongs.

Questions about flooring in Lawrence, Indiana

How much does an epoxy garage floor cost in Lawrence, IN?

It depends mostly on the floor's size, how much prep the slab needs and which coating system you choose, so I give you a figure in writing after I've seen the concrete. Cracks, an old coating to strip or moisture in the slab add work, while a basic one-color coat costs less than a full flake or metallic system. The on-site estimate is free and spells out each part.

Why is one epoxy floor quote so much cheaper than another?

Usually the difference is prep, because a cheaper quote often skips grinding the slab or checking it for moisture, and those are the steps that decide whether a coating holds. Coating thickness and whether there's a topcoat move the price too. Ask any contractor exactly what prep is included before you compare numbers.

How long does it take to put down a garage floor coating?

It depends on how much prep the slab needs and which coating you pick, because grinding and repairs come first and each coating has its own cure time before you can walk or park on it. I'll walk you through the timing for your floor when I come out to look at it.

Does my flooring contractor need City of Lawrence registration?

City code requires anyone who contracts for construction work in Lawrence, including demolition, to be a Registered Contractor, and a hired contractor needs that registration to get permits. Registration costs $150.00 and is good for two years, and the fee and insurance requirement are waived for contractors holding a current Marion County or City of Indianapolis license. Ask any contractor to show you their registration and insurance before work starts.

Can you put new epoxy over an old peeling garage floor coating?

Not if it's peeling, because a new coating only holds as well as the layer under it, so we grind the old one off down to clean concrete first. If the old coating is sound and well bonded, sometimes we can scuff it and recoat, and I'll tell you which you have when I see it.

Do you guarantee your floor coatings?

Yes, satisfaction guaranteed on every job. Before you sign, I'll also tell you plainly about anything on your slab that could work against a coating, like moisture coming up through the concrete, so you know what you're getting into.

Is epoxy or polyaspartic better for a garage floor in Indiana?

For most garages here I'd usually pick an epoxy base with a polyaspartic topcoat, because the epoxy builds a thick, tough layer and the polyaspartic top stands up well to hot tires and winter road salt. Straight epoxy can yellow in sunlight, so it's better suited to basements and inside rooms than a garage with the door open all summer.

Do I need a permit for a new garage or basement floor in Lawrence, IN?

It depends on the job, and the city's Department of Public Works is the office that decides, since it issues building permits for work that alters or repairs a building. Its list of exempt work names painting and tiling but doesn't mention floor coatings, so when it's unclear we check with that office before we start, and when a job needs a permit we file it and tell you where it stands. If you're not sure your address is inside Lawrence, the department answers boundary questions at 317-545-8787.
